You can say all you want about the Cardinals but they always lead the league in guys with stupid ass names doing well.

Haven't been on this Twitter machine in a while, but just wanted to say I fully support the Cubs tearing it down, based on the hope that, like, 90% of the turds that call themselves a fan base just go away.

Some of the cool stuff I came across this week. Not included, the fact that I discovered that Drake is mad dope.
So, What’s Good?
4-8 ain’t great. Not much has gone right so far this season, but we can’t get bogged down by the misery. Here are some things that have actually gone right. And some silver linings to things that haven’t.
It’s a Two Way Street, People
The big news in this nacient season has been the, frankly, awful performance of Carlos Marmol and before the Cubs home opener the hometown fans let him have it during pregame introductions. Seems a bit harsh.
Cubs Home Opener Makes Monday Tolerable
UPDATE: Two out of three’s not bad? Edwin Jackson had a miserable first inning, giving up four runs, and another run in the second inning before settling down and getting through six. Carlos Marmol pitched a scoreless, if, um, exciting, … Continue reading
The Rubber Game, or 2 out of 3 Ain’t Bad
UPDATE: Dang, I’m getting pretty good at this, but the Cubs starting pitchers are doing even better. Travis Wood got through six innings of shutout ball with 85 pitches and probably would have been out for the seventh if the … Continue reading
Hoo-ray, It’s (the real) Opening Day!
UPDATE: Well, the Shark surpassed my wildest imagination, going 8 man-sized innings and spitting the image of a “true No.1.” Castro was on point and Rizzo not far behind, with Wellington throwing his name into the core player discussion. #HeresTheBeef … Continue reading

Friday already?! Such a slow week for sports, I have to say the Superbowl is much less interesting without the Saints (not that I won’t be watching on Sunday). Counting down the days to spring training and wondering if the … Continue reading

I REALLY intend to post more than once or twice a week, but the day job has been digging it’s hooks into me this week. I had a whole angle on “State of the Teams” that I hoped to finish … Continue reading

A Google video search for “john fourcade nfl highlights” returns no results…ouch. Instead I give you Heath Shuler to Randal “Thrill” Hill for an 89 yard touchdown – from a pure probability standpoint that has to be the most unlikely … Continue reading
On Lower Life Forms and the Cubs
I was perusing the Tuesday chat by Chicago baseball blogger Bruce Levine over at espn.com (WARNING: I think you need an Insider account to view the chat archives) and one question in particular irked me. Tim (Portland, OR) Bruce, I … Continue reading
