Towson Tigers Game 36 Preview

Towson TigersTowson plays Delaware State today for the second time this year, so you can read that game preview to learn some tidbits about the Hornets. In the first game, Delaware State was only 2-12, but since then they have gone just 3-16, which is actually a better winning percentage. Don’t take anything for granted, I guess is what I’m saying. Of the bats I previously highlighted, Cole Garey and Jared Gillis have fallen off a little bit, but junior outfielder Darnell Maisonet is having a fantastic season, .329/.456/.512. Just like last time, the Tigers are coming off of a heart-breaking loss and hope to use DSU as their own personal stress ball.

HOW DO YOU LIKE IT?! HUH?!? YEAH, KEEP SMILING, ARGHHHH!!!

Towson used up a good portion of the pitching staff yesterday, so I would imagine we will see some combination of Alex Cuas, Alex Parker, Josh Seils, and perhaps Kody Reeser. I just noticed that Mason Anderson hasn’t pitched at all this month; I’m not sure if that is an injury situation, but if he isn’t available that would pretty much just leave the guys I just mentioned. Pitch well, pitch effectively, fellas.

Congrats go out to Craig Alleyne, who was deservedly named Towson’s Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Hopefully Alleyne can keep this up for the Tigers offense.

Lineup

I’m pretty sure this is a new lineup for the season. Mark Grunberg returns from a day off to play centerfield, which bumps Craig Alleyne over to left. Dirk Masters gets a breather as Billy Lennox mans second base, with Richard Miller and Charlie Watters taking the corners for the second straight game. Aaron Brush gets his first start of the season, and only third appearance, catching fellow freshman Josh Seils. Brush is from Minnesota and I’m curious how he ended up in Towson.
