Opportunity comes in many forms, but you can find it anywhere. It can be obvious, an offer of employment, adventure, or love. It can come disguised as failure. It can be trite and cliche or literally life changing. There are endless sayings on the subject, but if there is one commonality that binds all opportunities together, it is this: you better grab that sucker with all your might, because there’s no guarantee another one will come along.
Towson has an opportunity to reverse their season this weekend, playing at home for the first time in 2018. They have three games versus the University of Albany, a small school with a large mascot. The Great Danes have played only three games this year, losing two of three to noted powerhouse James Madison (I say that jokingly, but JMU is 6-2 this year and just beat a Richmond team that swept Towson last weekend) and sporting a team batting average of .198.
Today’s game could be a pitcher’s dream or an absolute nightmare – we have heavy winds in the area, with gusts up to 60 mpg forecast, but I have no idea which direction they will be blowing in respect to Schuerholz Stadium. The Tigers’ pitching staff has undeniably struggled so far this year, but this weekend is a chance to get right. They need to seize the heck out of that opportunity, weather be damned.
The Watch List
David Marriggi is the new addition, along with mainstay Palacios and youngsters (that feels strange to type, I’m literally old enough to be all of these guys dad) Cassard and Plagge.

Bo Plagge, OF – .600/.714/1.200, 5 ABs, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1R, two positions

Pitching matchups, series history, and more can be found here. Video of today and Sunday‘s games are available online.
I, however, will not need the stream for Sunday’s game, as I will be at Schuerholz Stadium taking in my first live Towson baseball game. And I’m going to be coy for now, but there is a reason I led this post talking about opportunity. There will be much more to come about that and Towson baseball in general.
